Community Partnerships

Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 serves one of the fastest growing communities in the country. Encompassing a 64-square mile area, the District serves all or segments of Bolingbrook, Crest Hill, Joliet, Lockport, Naperville, Plainfield, and Romeoville as well as unincorporated Will and Kendall counties. The District's approximately 30,000 students attend 30 schools and are served by nearly 3,700 staff members.

All Our Kids

The “All Our Kids” Organization, also known as AOK, is run by the Will County Department of Health. Consisting of over forty agencies, AOK offers services to Will County’s children and their families.   The mission of AOK is to ensure that families with young children receive the services they need to live healthy lives.

AOK meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 9:30 AM at Marycrest Elementary School located at: 303 Purdue Court, Joliet, Illinois 60436, telephone number to the school is (815) 725-1100.


Programs from the Plainfield Television Group can be seen on Plainfield's cable Channel 6 every Friday at 7pm and Saturday and Sunday at 1pm. Many of the programs can also be seen on the web at PLAINFIELDTV.COM. Local Plainfield people producing original entertaining and programming in the public interest for the community access TV channel is what Plainfield TV is all about.


Conservation Plainfield is a cooperative venture of various government agencies in the Plainfield community. Representatives from Plainfield Public Library District, the Village of Plainfield, Plainfield Township, Plainfield School District 202 and Plainfield Park District serve as board members of the organization.

The Great Read

The Great Read was created to promote literacy, reading, conversation and community in the greater Plainfield area.  It encompasses District 202 and the Plainfield, Joliet, Shorewood-Troy and Fountaindale Public Libraries. This community read is supported through a generous grant by the Plainfield Foundation for Excellence as well as funding through the Plainfield and Joliet Libraries. 

The 2009-2010 choice is Luis Urrea’s Into the Beautiful North. In addition to this novel, the author has written several other books, available in area libraries and bookstores.  The kick-off for this year’s Great Read will be Monday, December 7 at 7 pm at the Joliet Barnes and Noble. Mainly Moms Advisory Council

The “Mainly Moms Advisory Council” is run by the office of Illinois State Representative Tom Cross.  The mission of the “Mainly Moms Advisory Council” is to provide educational programs and services to assist families in the Plainfield area.

The “Mainly Moms Advisory Council” meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 9:00 AM at the Plainfield office of State Representative Tom Cross.
